NimbeLink wanted to improve its existing asset-tracking solution with a way to visualize asset data in dashboards, maps and/or graphs.
NimbeLink’s team began testing IoT platforms to complement its LTE Cat M1 asset-tracking products. The goal was to offer a low-cost, battery powered solution with flexible features that could be used for a wide-range of applications. “The other platforms didn’t have the tools required to build a user interface that could securely support many companies with multiple users. The front-end features, the developer view, and the way that you could create individual experiences were important to us,” said NimbeLink Co-Founder and CTO Kurt Larson. After integrating data from their asset-tracking solution into the Losant enterprise IoT platform, NimbeLink provided a beta group of customers sensors to detect motion, temperature and location. The immediate response was positive overall.

NimbeLink uses N-Link, their proprietary cloud platform, to collect and store data for its asset-tracking solution and the company uses Losant’s Experience features so users can quickly and easily view and monitor assets in a clean and easy-to-navigate graphic visual environment. By seamlessly integrating data from its existing data warehouse into Losant’s enterprise IoT platform, the team was able to quickly deploy dashboards, configure reports and secure clients’ information with user authentication.
NimbeLink would like to create additional value for its clients by introducing diverse sensors which can offer new information to help businesses make decisions in real-time. “Once they see what the asset tracker can do, our customers start thinking about how else they can benefit from the solution,” said Larson.
