What is a Payload?

A Payload in the Losant platform is an object that can trigger a Workflow. The Payload carries relevant data through the Workflow, resulting in an output. There are many types of Payloads in the Losant platform. It’s important to note that a Payload is counted for billing purposes if it could trigger a Workflow.

A common example of a Payload is a device sending State to the platform.
How many Devices can I connect?

There is no hard limit on the number of devices you can connect. However, your organization has an initial soft limit of 1,000. This means you cannot create more than 1,000 devices until a Losant team member updates your organization’s limits. You can contact support or your account manager to get this updated. There is no charge for updating the device limit on your organization.
